beth lord
owner (in charge of the pretty stuff)
To the indie·pendent, Beth brings a strong background and intimate understanding of marketing, merchandising and creative design. She has had a passion for fabrics since she was a young girl. Beth earned her bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Merchandising and Interiors from the University of Georgia in 1996. She then went on to study Historic Preservation and Restoration, another passion of hers, at a hands-on program in Ohio.
From there, Beth took a position with Tait-Henson studios as a showroom and tradeshow designer for a major textile manufacturer. This position led to her partnering in the start-up of a small exhibit house, where she remained for the next six years. Beth oversaw all design, marketing and daily operations of the company.
In 2005, Beth moved to Atlanta to be closer to Susan and her Brother, who had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. She remained in the event marketing industry for the next few years and was promoted to Director of Events for the company which had operations in New York, Atlanta and Las Vegas. After the passing of her brother, Beth made the decision to leave the corporate world and to get back to her creative roots. She began experimenting again with her own art and craft projects. Then one day, it just hit her. Beth wanted to provide a platform for emerging artists to not only sell their goods, but also tell their story…we all have one!
