Is anyone else super ready for all the wonderful sweet things that come along with Valentine’s Day? I have seemed to be a bit obsessed with what I want for the big day…to eat that is. I cannot quit thinking about food! I have spent the past three weeks on a dairy-free diet trial trying to determine what the source of my chronic headaches might be. My general practitioner ran an MRI, the ENT specialist ran a CAT scan of my sinuses, my dentist made me a lovely night-guard, the optometrist prescribed eye glasses and now the allergist (after determining that I am allergic to milk, which we have known since the day I was born) has me on this dietary trial. At first I thought this would be simple, but then I realized that a dairy allergy not only meant abstaining from milk and the other obvious guilty pleasures, it also meant avoiding whey and casein which are found in pre-packaged breads, cakes, cookies and deli meats…and I totally forgot about CHOCOLATE!
I could care less about milk, ice cream and yogurt but this no bread, no cheese and no chocolate diet is for the birds. Sunday I’m bringing the dairy back and I can hardly wait…I will be having a large pizza and a huge chunk of chocolate cake, similar to these…

Yummy. By the way, I have not had a bad headache since I started the trial…DAMNIT!
